If the aging electrical equipment continues to be used, there will be great safety hazards. In order to avoid accidents, it is recommended that everyone should learn to correctly judge the service life of electrical equipment.
We can judge from five aspects:
1. Calculate the age of the electrical equipment according to the date of manufacture marked on the electrical equipment to see if it is aging.
2. Use the current and voltmeter to test the insulation capacity of electrical equipment. When the measured electrical insulation capacity drops to an unacceptable level, it can be determined that it has aged.
3. Observe the surface of electrical equipment. If there are phenomena such as false connection points, threaded tripping, damaged insulation protection layer, insulation fulcrum, abnormal smell during use of electrical equipment, etc., it indicates that the equipment has aged and should be stopped immediately and shut down. Overhaul.
4. The electrical equipment inside the building can be judged based on the delivery time of the building. For example, when the house has not been renovated after purchase and decoration, the residential wire is still the power line at the time of construction, starting from the date of the electrical appliances used. , The time that the wire has been used continuously and the degree of electrical aging can be estimated.
5. Judge according to the environment of the place where electrical equipment is used, including temperature, humidity, degree of chemical corrosion, and current load. For example, electrical equipment used in certain constant temperature, constant humidity, and non-chemically corrosive environments can be used for several years or even decades; on the contrary, if the ambient temperature is too high or the humidity is too high, and the chemical corrosion is too heavy, the electrical equipment It is easily damaged by aging.
The aging electrical equipment must be overhauled or replaced in time, so as to reduce unnecessary accidents and ensure the safe production of enterprises.
Common electrical faults
1. Electrical failure caused by environmental conditions
Environmental conditions that have a greater impact on the operation of electrical equipment include temperature, humidity, air pollution, and atmospheric pressure.
If the temperature of electrical equipment is too high or too low during operation, and the allowable limit value is exceeded, electrical equipment failure may occur. The influence of temperature on electrical equipment mainly has the following aspects.
1.1 Impact on conductor materials
As the temperature rises, the metal material softens, and the mechanical strength will decrease significantly. For example, when the long-term working temperature of copper metal materials exceeds 200°C, the mechanical strength will decrease significantly. The mechanical strength of aluminum metal materials is also closely related to temperature. Generally, the long-term working temperature of aluminum should not exceed 90°C, and the short-term working temperature should not exceed 120°C. If the temperature is too high, the organic insulating material will become brittle and aging, the insulation performance will decrease, and even breakdown.
